Late to the game here, but the only practice I've managed to hold on to over the years is freeing the first hour of my day from any tasks other than reading and eating my first meal of the day. Not huge, but my scattered brain needs me to free up time in order to concentrate later.
I love that time-bound ritual so much — today I had insomnia and was up before the rest of my household, and I realized how valuable the stillness was to me. I also love the expanded time for two non-negotiables that on the surface don't seem as though they would take that long.
